Community Fundraising
It's a great feeling to know that one person really can make a difference. Fundraising for The Smith Family is a fun and rewarding way to make a life-changing difference to young Australians in need. Your generosity will give disadvantaged Aussie kids access to vital learning support and mentoring programs, to help them break the cycle of disadvantage, for good.
Getting started
Whether you're thinking of a small morning tea or a large gala dinner, every idea is a good one and the sky's the limit as to how much you can raise! We've created a Fundraising Guide to help you get started. Not only is it full of useful tips and ideas to ensure your activity is a success, it also includes a Fundraising Registration Form which you'll need to complete and return to us. Once you're registered, we'll send you written confirmation and issue you with an Authority to Fundraise letter. Then it's time to start planning your activity - make sure you download our fundraising posters to help spread the word.
Fundraising online
Whether you want to organise an event, request donations in lieu of gifts for a celebration, wedding or set up a lasting legacy for a loved one, an online fundraising page is the easiest and most effective way to get support.
Online fundraising is so simple and gives all your supporters a quick and secure way to donate and enables you to easily communicate with your networks and promote your activity. Visit our Everyday Hero fundraising page to get started. Please note you don't need to submit a Fundraising Registration Form if you are solely raising funds online.
Submitting your funds
If you have raised money offline, please complete the Fundraising Results Form and send this to us along with a cheque or money order for the amount raised.
You can also make a direct deposit to The Smith Family Special Account - Westpac - Royal Exchange - BSB 032002 - Account 455822. If you choose to transfer the funds, please still send us your completed Fundraising Results Form so we can provide you with a receipt and appropriately recognise your contribution. Please quote reference EVNT12CMFD01 in all transfers.
If any of your donors require a receipt, please record their details on the Donor Receipt Form and send it to us. We will then issue receipts direct to the donors. Only donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Please note tax deductible receipts cannot be issued if goods or services are received in return for payments (e.g. an auction prize or event ticket).
