Scott Walters, Head of Strategic Partnerships, The Smith Family
Scott has enjoyed a long and diverse career in the wealth management industry. Ranging from stockbroking to financial planning, corporate superannuation and online investing, Scott has led and managed businesses and teams to record results. Most recently Scott was Head of Financial Planning for Mark Bouris' Yellow Brick Road Wealth Management. Prior to this he was Financial Advice Leader for Australia for Mercer Wealth Solutions and in that role was awarded Rainmaker Marketer of the Year - Financial Planning.
Before joining Mercer, Scott was Head of Financial Planning for Citigroup. Prior to that he held the same role with Westpac/BT. Scott was also responsible for the successful launch of Merrill Lynch HSBC in December 2000, the online stockbroking and financial services joint venture. Scott also spent 14 years with Deutsche Bank in a variety of roles, including 7 years in their London office and 4 years as Head of Private Client Stockbroking in Australia.
Scott has served on the boards of The Benevolent Society, the Art Gallery of NSW and a publicly listed company. He has been active in a range of social issues and is an alumnus of the Sydney Leadership program, run under the auspices of The Benevolent Society.
In his various roles Scott has been lead media spokesman for TV, radio and print. Scott is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the Queensland University of Technology.
