VIEW Clubs - Voice, Interests and Education of Women

VIEW is a nationwide, women's organisation of 19,600 members. VIEW, stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women, was established to give women, a network of support, a platform to voice their views on issues of national concern and a forum in which to support the charitable work of The Smith Family.

In 1960 the General Secretary of The Smith Family, George Forbes, created VIEW Clubs of Australia, for women. Back then the purpose of VIEW (Voice, Interests and Education of Women), was to offer companionship and help women, particularly those in rural communities, to overcome social isolation, while improving opportunities for women to have their say, especially at government level.

VIEW Club members are passionate about actively contributing to their community while building a network of friendships and having fun at the same time. VIEW is a valued part of The Smith Family and supports its work unlocking opportunities for disadvantaged Australian children so they can realise their potential through education. Operating in 400 metropolitan, regional and rural communities across Australia, VIEW offers a critical support network for members in providing friendship through social activities and a sense of purpose and direction through helping disadvantaged Australian children supported by The Smith Family. More and more women are joining VIEW because they believe in the power of education to change lives and can see how their contribution helps disadvantaged children get the step up they need to make the most of their lives.
