Capricorn Communities for Children Facilitating Partner

The Smith Family has been the Facilitating Partner for the Australian Government’s Capricorn Region Communities for Children Facilitating Partner (CfC FP) since 2011.  We facilitate the delivery of a range of services designed to improve outcomes for children from 0 to 12 years old and their families within the local community.  By taking a place-based and 'whole of community' approach, Capricorn CfC FP aims to help build a strong community that is inclusive and supportive of all families living in Capricorn Local Government Area.

The Capricorn region CfC FP initiative operates within the suburbs of Rockhampton, Gracemere, Mount Morgan District and the Livingstone Shire Council.

The Community Strategic Plan for Capricorn CfC FP provides the roadmap for the development and implementation of the initiative for the period 2015-2019.

Strategic Priorities:

• Children and their families lead healthier lifestyles.
• Parents and Carers are better able to support their child’s development.
• Young children are better prepared for school and have increased school engagement.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children have improved health and learning
• Community connectedness.
