Finding downloaded files

On a Windows computer

1. Open File Explorer

Click on the folder icon at the bottom of your screen. This opens File Explorer.

2. Go to Downloads

On the left side, you’ll see a list. Click on Downloads.

Here, you’ll find all the files you’ve downloaded.

Click on the smiley face icon at the bottom of your screen. This opens Finder.

By default, macOS also ships with a link to your personal Downloads folder in the dock, which is the row of app icons on the bottom or side of your screen.

2. Go to Downloads

On the left side, you’ll see Downloads. Click on it to see your downloaded files.

It may also appear as a folder in the main window of the favourites menu.

On an Android phone

1. Open the Files app

Look for an app called Files or My Files.

It might look like a folder icon.

2. Go to Downloads

Open the app and look for a folder named Downloads.

Tap on it to see your files.

On an iPhone (iOS)

1. Open the Files app

Swipe down on your home screen and type Files in the search bar.

Tap on the Files app.

2. Go to Downloads

Tap on Browse at the bottom, then tap on iCloud Drive.

You’ll see a folder named Downloads.

Controlling where files get saved

On a Windows computer

1. Open Settings

Click on the Start menu (the Windows icon) and then click on the gear icon to open Settings.

You can also use the shortcut
[Windows logo key + i].

2. Go to System > Storage

Click on System, then Storage.

Scroll down and click on Change where new content is saved.

On a Mac

1. Open Safari Preferences

If you use Safari to download files, open Safari and click on Safari in the top left corner, then Preferences.

2. Change download location

Click on the General tab. Next to File download location choose where you want to save your files.

On an Android phone

1. Open Chrome settings

If you use Chrome, open the Chrome app and tap on the three dots in the top right corner, then Settings.

2. Change downloads location

Tap on Downloads and choose where you want to save your files.

On an iPhone (iOS)

1. Open Safari settings

If you use Safari, open the Settings app and scroll down to Safari.

2. Change download location

Tap on Downloads and choose where you want to save your files.
