Measuring Learning for Life success

Did you know, in 2023-2024 we supported 67,165 students through our Learning for Life program?

You're part of a community of parents dedicated to helping their children do well at school.

Our Annual Impact Report contains information about our work's outcomes and focus areas for the year.

Learning for Life

The Learning for Life program partners with your family and aims to give your child the things they need to do their best at school.

Learning for Life provides:

Support from a Family Partnership Coordinator:

They can help you with any school-related challenges and connect you with support services.

Scholarship money:

Payments made twice a year to help with the cost of schooling.

Access to education support programs:

Assistance with reading, maths and digital skills or help from learning mentors.
To measure the success of our Learning for Life program, we look at:

1. Attendance

Regular school attendance helps your child do their best at school.

We collect attendance information from your child's school report.

83.8% was the average attendance for Years 1–10 Learning for Life students in 2023.

2. Advancement

Progressing from Year 10 to Year 12 improves your child's life outcomes.

You provide this information when you confirm your child’s study plans in Year 11 and 12.

64% of Learning for Life students in Year 10 in 2021 continued on to Year 12 by 2023.

3. Engagement

Studying or working after Year 12 increases your child's chance to engage in work and society fully.

We collect this information via our engagement surveys.

83% of students who were in Year 12 in 2022, were in education, employment or training 18 months after leaving school.

Outcomes of our education support programs

These are just some of our programs and areas of support across the different school stages.

To learn more, explore our Program Guidebooks.

These outcomes are good, but we know we can do better together!

Together, we want to help every one of the 67,165 children and young people on Learning for Life attend school regularly, complete Year 12, and go on to further study or work.

To do this, we will:

  • Focus on improving school attendance below 90%.
  • Increase offers and access to education support programs at home.
  • Provide you with more information to support your child through their schooling journey and transition to further study or work.

You’ll hear from us throughout the year, but you can reach out to us, when you need. We’re in this together.
