NJ/NR Zone Conference 2026

A lovely day, with more than 50 members and guests at the South Tweed Sports Club for the NJ/NR Zone Conference, celebrating a shared purpose, and commitment with dedicated members supporting education.

The event brought together Presidents and members from the local 8 VIEW clubs – Ballina, Brunswick Valley, Coolangatta/Tweed, Lennox Head Evening, Murwillumbah Day, Murwillumbah Evening, Twin Towns Day and Twin Towns Evening VIEW Clubs.

Guests included MP for Tweed Heads, Geoff Provest, The Smith Family representative Yasmin Dorrington supporting Learning for Life student, Hannah, VIEW National President, Lorraine Thomson, Zone Councillor Dianne Lutz (Host), Past National Councillor, Rosie McDermott and Guest Speaker with ‘CyberSafety’ for Seniors, Joe Franzi.

Members and guests enjoyed browsing the trading table generously stocked with home baked goodies and relishes and an impressive raffle table, generating amazing fundraising support for the Zone.

Presidents from the visiting eight local VIEW Clubs shared success stories from each club, support from members and their fundraising commitments for their Learning for Life students.

Guest speaker, Joe from ‘CyberSafety’ for Seniors alerted members with an insight into scams and ongoing AI issues. He distributed information relevant to this. 
Learning for Life student, Hannah shared her journey with The Smith Family support and her amazing success and achievements with her Psychology Degree and her ongoing studies, Hannah is an inspiration for everyone.

NP, Lorraine spoke to members, promoting the Women’s Weekly article, relevant information with webpage updates, the NSW ‘Return and Earn’ Initiative, Resolutions and happily fielded questions from members. Lorraine congratulated Zone Councillor, Dianne Lutz, and the generous support from clubs and members with hosting a very successful and informative Zone Event.
