Gold Coast and Darling Downs Zone Conference
Gold Coast and Darling Downs Zone Conference
On Thursday 3 September 45 VIEW committee members from all over the Gold Coast and Darling Downs came together for their zone conference with special guest, The Smith Family team leader Kym Juleff.
The conference was all about “Connecting to make a bigger difference” with presentations form VIEW National Office and thoughtful insights from Ros, a member of Surfers Paradise VIEW Club on her experiences as a volunteer.
The Smith Family Team Leader Kym gave an overview of changes in the National organization with a focus on the Gold Coast and Toowoomba. The take home glossy publications, brochures and flyers were a great hit too.
Each Club President added their thoughts and aspirations for their club, VIEW and TSF Learning for Life Students. Margaret shared her experience of being on committee for two clubs (Toowoomba Day VIEW Club and Newmarket VIEW Club). Julie, the president of Runaway Bay VIEW Club also shared her tips around writing a successful grant application.
Attendees engaged in focussed table discussion recording of group ideas and club homework activity around engagement strategies for thriving clubs to take back new ideas to their home clubs.
Typical of our VIEW Guiding principles there was no shortage of support and help to make the day run smoothly. A special shout out to Evelyn, Jennifer, Ingrid, Susanne, Angela, Marion, who helped set up a happy welcome vibe ready to connect and interact with new and old VIEW club friends travelling from all over the region! Thank you to everyone who contributed to make such a wonderful event and for all of the attendees who openly contributed to the conversation!
