Get Involved
- Volunteer
  As a VIEW member there are many opportunities to volunteer your time and skills to directly help and support The Smith Family and disadvantaged Australian children and their families.
- Fundraise
  VIEW members raise over $1.1 million annually for The Smith Family and sponsor more than 1,650+ Learning for Life students.
- Raise awareness and advocate
  With more than 300 clubs around Australia involving some 14,000 women from all walks of life, the collective voice of VIEW is an important aspect of the organsation's work.
- Sponsor a disadvantaged student
  Learning for Life sponsorship provides disadvantaged students with financial assistance, emotional support and access to learning and educational programs.
- Partner with VIEW
  VIEW is proud to have a wide range of community partners that support our fundraising efforts and the work of The Smith Family. We would like to thank the following companies for their ongoing support.

About

Woden VIEW Club was formed in 1971.

Currently, the Club sponsors six Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.

We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

Club News

Meet Our 2026 Committee

Our first meeting for 2026 was our AGM with the election of our new committee. Our committee line up has remained the same with the exception of Deepinda, a new member who was elected as Treasurer.

Our lunch meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Southern Cross Club, Woden at 11.30am for 12 noon. The cost is $38 for a two course lunch. Each month we have a very well stocked Trading Table and a raffle with lots of great prizes. At our next meeting on the 24th February, Melissa Freasier will be our guest speaker who will talk about Decluttering and Downsizing. If you would like to come along as a guest to see what fun we have helping to raise funds for The Smith Family's Learning for Life programme, please contact Lesley by phone or text on 0419 697 782 by Wednesday, 18th February.

Our members celebrated St Patric's Day at our March meeting, and we were fantastically entertained by the Humbug Celtic Band. They had us all toe tapping and singing along.

Thank you to Officeworks, January 2026

President Jean and Nola from Woden VIEW club met with Scott, manager of Tuggeranong Officeworks store, to say thank you for the valued and much appreciated efforts by all their staff in helping to raise much needed funds to support the Smith Family in Canberra.

Birthday Celebrations in 2025

In September our Club celebrated its 55th Birthday. Our theme was blue to also acknowledge VIEW Club Australia's Sapphire Birthday. Our beautiful cake, made by Monica, was cut by Suzanne and Monica who both received their 10 year membership badges. Our speaker for the day was artist Maria Pulmeer who donated a beautiful painting for our raffle. She presented the lucky winner Joan with her prize.

Christmas in July luncheon 2025

Woden VIEW club celebrated Christmas in July at the Southern Cross Club. A lovely get together with many great raffle prizes that helped with our fund raising.

Queanbeyan Community Choir entertained us with lots of favourite Christmas carols.

Donations To Kids In Care

Dennis Ogden and Jess Lee from Kids In Care ACT accepted a wonderful table full of donations from our members. Yutta contributed over 60 knitted teddies and Margaret many beautifully knitted beanies and other garments for the many children in need in the ACT.
