Thank-you From Our Members
Outgoing President Margaret made a presentation of a thank you card and a plant to SPBC Staff member Kylie who has been serving VIEW club members lunches for 12 years.
Kylie is a very well liked and respected worker who regularly goes beyond her job requirements to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience at our luncheon meetings. Thank you Kylie, and good luck in your retirement.
VIEW NA01 Port Stephens International Women's Day 2026
On Monday 9th March Port Stephens held its International Women’s Day breakfast, at the Murrook Culture Centre, hosted by Meryl Swanson Federal Member for Paterson, Kate Washington State Member for Port Stephens and Leah Anderson Mayor of Port Stephens who is also a member of the Nelson Bay VIEW Club.
Over 300 attended this fantastic International Women’s Day event with 27 VIEW Club members with representatives from Myall River, Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace and Tilligerry VIEW Clubs. Also present was Angie Carroll National Vice President, Anne-Louise O’Connor Past National President as well as Leanne Ferguson and Breanna Landwehr from The Smith Family Communities for Children. Two of our VIEW ladies even won a raffle prize!!
VIEW Club was also fortunate enough to have a stall at this event giving members the opportunity to promote VIEW to the wider community. Many of the guests attending showed an interest in VIEW and our connection with The Smith Family including one person whose mother had been a member of the Hervey Bay VIEW Club. A stall has been booked for the 2027 IWD!
It was an amazing day especially hearing from students from 7 of the local schools which was very inspiring knowing our future is in good hands.

Christmas 2025 Celebrations

Smith Family Spring Spectacular (September)
A magnificent Spring Luncheon as a major fund raiser was held by the Nelson Bay VIEW Club on September 26. 106 ladies were treated to complimentary bubbly and juice upon arrival. The ladies were "frocked and feathered" for this very popular annual Spring Luncheon. The Soldiers Point Bowling Club auditorium was the venue, providing a delicious 2 course meal which was enjoyed by all! Congratulations to the Committee who worked tirelessly for many months in the lead-up to ensure success of this occasion. The tables were beautifully decorated, and Spring was clearly in the air with a Spring floral slideshow projected on the numerous large screens in the auditorium throughout the event. Our inspirational guest speaker was a local hero, Vicki Haines, who entertained us for 30 minutes on her Australia/Worldwide adventures on her Honda CB500X motorcycle, in her selfless quest to raise much-needed funds for the Yaccabar Centre at Nelsons Bay. Many thanks to our sponsors and guests for their magnanimous generosity in supporting the Smith Family and allowing the Nelson Bay VIEW Club to continue sponsoring our [at present] 12 Learning-For Life Students.
Christmas in July 2025
On Thursday July 3, Nelson Bay View Club celebrated our Christmas in July. The members did us proud with many variations of the Christmas spirit from naughty elves, angels and various festive combinations of red and green apparel. Well done everyone.
