Birthday Celebrations in July
At our Club’s 34th Birthday, President, Janelle presented a VIEW 10 year badge to Karen, who transferred from Eugowra VIEW Club, and 20 year badges to long term members Elaine and Helen, both having held several committee positions.
Congratulations ladies for your ongoing support who can be seen in the accompanying photo, with President Janelle.
Guest Speaker in July
Guest Speaker at our July birthday meeting, was Grant from The South Coast Domestic Task Force. who spoke about a committee that has been formed to work with the police and other organisations to implement a pilot program to intervene in cases of domestic violence.
In Canberra the Intervention Approach and education was very successful and led to more reporting and effective follow up. Without community wide education and diversionary programs for those convicted, the cycle of abuse continues. Education in families, schools and communities to change the mind-set of We don’t want to get involved must change.
Meet and Greet in July

June Guest Speaker
Janey gave a presentation describing the History of The Entertainers, a dedicated local volunteer cast and crew of a wonderful annual variety stage performance that began in 1970. Over the years, their performances have raised more than a million dollars for local charities and organisations.
Original members brought a small group of community minded singers and players together to share their talents and interests. Janey, Craig and their children joined the group in 1986 along with a fast growing, supportive performing community. Janey loved such a wonderful community of talent and fun. In more recent years, performers and crew come from every walk of life, the young, the old, students, teachers, doctors, builders, shop owners and more; they are all special!
Janey mentioned about some of the inspirational women founders and current members, that they are ordinary women wanting to share their love of community: I am so grateful for my part in it all. Thanks to Janey and Craig for their presentation.
Thank you Janey

Kokoda Trail Trek with Ellie
Guest speaker Ellie Fitzpatrick, kept Members enthralled with her talk, when together with three other Ulladulla High School students Ellie was awarded a Kokoda Youth Leadership Challenge Scholarship. She trained hard and felt excited and privileged to be chosen.
The muddy mountainous track was definitely a challenge but Ellie’s insight into what the soldiers went through along the track, carrying heavy packs and hauling heavy equipment while being fired upon by the enemy, was truly an inspiration. Ellie’s experience has encouraged her to pursue a career with the Australian Air Force. Her presentation was most engaging.
