Warren VIEW Club

Guest speakers Chris Letton and Sarah Langby returned to relay the journey of Warren to Canberra that challenged them all.

Dusty could not attend as it was a school day, but he did a remarkable job. Chris met the challenge and spoke with humour and Sarah rallied in the support of her family as it really was an impressive and tough road to conquer.

But conquer they did and raised a lot of money for Little Wings and children's medical services in the bush. So proud of the whole team. Well done!

Warren VIEW luncheon was held on Wed 16th September 2026.

Warren VIEW welcomed guest speakers Jerome Shepherd (Rotary sponsor/Warren Shire Council) and General Manager Warren Shire Council, Gary Woodman. Jerome spoke on his progress within Warren Shire Council and Gary informed members of the recycling which will begin on 26th September in Warren.

Zone Councillor, Lorraine visited Forbes VIEW on Thursday 10th September as Guest Speaker and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and warm welcome. Another wonderful mingle with other VIEW ladies visiting from nearby areas ensured another most enjoyable day.

On Tuesday 1st September, three Warren VIEW members travelled to Parkes to help celebrate their 57th birthday luncheon. A wonderful day was enjoyed with Parkes VIEW, and mingling with other VIEW Clubs visiting as well.

Warren VIEW celebrated its 40th birthday on Wednesday 19th August 2026 at the United Services Club Auditorium and what an occasion it was! Entertainment by St Mary's School students performing a taste of their upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz.

Also, Nola recited a poem; pass the parcel; trivia; raffle; Gnarie sang; & lucky door Four Foundation members attended.

Three Ladies were presented with their 40 year badges and all with a Certificate of Appreciation. It was a great day.

At twelve years of age, what an inspiring young man Dusty Langby is.

Dusty was our guest speaker in July along with his most avid supporters, Mum Sarah, brother Angus and local nurse, Chris. Dusty aims to raise 1 million dollars by walking from Warren to Canberra - 540 klms.

He told us how he is making an idea of raising money for Little Wings, become a reality, and of the training and support he is receiving from far and wide.

Little Wings is a charity that flies sick children from the western towns to larger centres for medical care.

Our Guest Speaker for June 2026 was Zone Councillor NH-01, Lorraine.

Lorraine is a member of our Club and presented the Zone Councillor powerpoint and updated information. She explained her role and responsibilities, and is now into her third year as a Zone Councillor, so is feeling more comfortable and confident in the knowledge she has gained.

Warren Librarian/ Manager Erica Kearns was our guest speaker in May. Erica gave a wonderful presentation on the many activities that are available at our local Library.  It is a busy and supportive Library that caters for so many various opportunities for all ages in our area.

A very interesting and informative discussion led by Emma Wass, community nurse at the Warren Multi Purpose Service was conducted at our April meeting.  Emma and colleague Stephanie Van Lubeck, spoke on the importance of an Advanced Care Directive in our later years.  

Barbara and Lorraine received their 10 year badges and birthday girl Jill was celebrated.

Wednesday 18th March, our Club held its monthly luncheon. We also acknowledged International Women.s Day.

Our Guest Speaker was Ms Jodi Douglas, Manager Commonwealth Bank who gave a very informative presentation.

Our next Meeting will be held on Wed. 15th April. 

On Wednesday 18th February 2026 Warren VIEW Club held their AGM and Luncheon Meeting.

Congratulations to those elected. We welcome two new ladies to our Committee and look forward to a wonderful year ahead.

It is our 40th Anniversary in August, and we are fortunate to have five foundation members as regular attendees at our luncheons.

Our Club celebrated the Christmas Luncheon with a festive occasion.  Members, guests and visitors, (including two from Parkes, and two from Bathurst) were entertained by talented locals - plus Vicki from Bathurst.

The stormy weather caused a blackout for about an hour but no one seemed to notice as the show still went on - by Christmas lights.

Lucky chairs; raffles; A Trivia Queen and friendly atmosphere was a wonderful way to conclude a very successful year.
