About
Currently, the Club sponsors sixteen Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
Our club has a positive interest in local activities, with many Members not only supporting the disadvantaged children in our area but also volunteering in many and various ways. Members of our club are a diverse group of about 100 women from many walks of life and life stages. Our official meeting is held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Caloundra Power Boat Club, with an average attendance of some 90 enthusiastic Members. We meet regularly to share passion and experience, build lasting friendships and make a tremendous difference in the lives of the young students whom our club supports. We welcome women from all walks of life to join us and make a difference. We have an interesting guest speaker at each dinner meeting.

International Women's Day 2026
Members of our Club celebrated IWD in March and were privileged to hear from local, and former World and Australian Ironwoman Champion, Kerri Thomas. Kerri was a pioneer in changing the landscape for women in surf sports. From when she started as a Nipper at the local Dicky Beach Surf Club and competed as the only girl among the boys, Kerri has been determined to compete at her best, despite the inequalities she faced.
Her love of the ocean, surf sports, and the support of friends and family, helped her to win many firsts. Kerri won back-to-back Australian Ironwomen titles in 1998, and again in 1999, when it included board, swim and ski, for the first time. Kerri was also the first female to be named captain of a regional team on the Sunshine Coast.
Kerri advocated for a level playing field in surf life saving competitions. In the 1990s, as a 10 year old member of the Dicky Beach Surf Club, she competed against 39 boys to make the competition team. She was the first girl to make the team.
When Kerri began competing, races that are available today, didn’t exist. The sport was dominated by the boys and many events were not available to the girls. Today, rather than one or two female competitors, clubs compete with women life saving teams, and support diversity, equity and inclusion.
Kerri continues to work with surf life saving, educating the younger generation in the skills required to save lives and hone those skills through competition.
January 2026 Outing
On the second Tuesday of each month members love to gather at the Caloundra Power Boat Club at 10am for a delicious Morning Tea whilst taking in the scenic views of the beautiful Pumicestone Passage.
The informal occasion allows us to catch up on all the latest happenings with our friends, old and new.

Celebrating 2025 Christmas
Our Club love to celebrate at our Christmas party. themed clothing. The Members in themed clothing filled the dance floor and enjoyed showing off their best dance moves to the music of our musician Billy Guy.
Mrs Claus and the Christmas Elf stole the show in the dress up stakes. What a fun night we had!
