Centenary Evening VIEW Club

About

Centenary Evening VIEW Club was formed in 1994.

Currently, the Club sponsors fourteen Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.

Centenary Evening has a triple Focus; fun friendship and fundraising for our students.  Members enjoy varied trips and outings, and our monthly Coffee and Chat mornings are extremely popular.  Several fund raising events are held in Members' homes, such as High Teas and Melbourne Cup parties..  Every December finds the Centenary ladies Christmas wrapping in shopping centres. This is a fun way to raise much needed funds.

We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

Park Outing in 2026

Members took to the great outdoors for coffee and chat this month, which took the form of a delicious picnic, and was enjoyed by everyone in the beautiful surroundings of Rocks Riverside Park.

Top photo shows some of our very relaxed Members with the bottom photo showing Lindy warding off the two marauding Kookaburras; whose favourites from the wonderful array of goodies was the Date loaf.

International Women's Day 2026

Our Members took part in a joint International Women’s Day function, which included Centenary Evening, Chapel Hill and Kenmore Clubs.  The Presidnets of these Clubs organised the day which was very successful for the 150 guests attending.

The walls of the function room were decorated with wonderful quilts which depicted different aspects of International women’s day. The quilts were the work of our great guest speaker Bev , who assembled them from blocks donated by many women.

Accompanying photo on the left shows -  Marion, vice president of Kenmore, Gaynor, president of Centenary and Liz, president of Chapel Hill and photo on the right shows a close up of one of the beautiful quilts.

Behind the scenes at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

We found the backstage tour of Queensland Performing Arts Centre fascinating. Here we are peering into the cantilevered all glass foyer of the new 5th theatre in the complex, due to open soon.

At The Law Courts in 2025

These three suspects were found loitering outside the law courts!

Our visit to the beautifully designed law courts was very interesting. The reflection in the window shows part of Yayoi Kusama’s  Eyes  mural. No two eyes are the same.
