Noosaville VIEW Club

About

Noosaville VIEW Club was formed in 1999.

Currently, the Club sponsors fourteen Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.

We are a fun-loving group, and our monthly meetings have Guest speakers who provide varied and interesting topics for all to enjoy. Whilst we enjoy fundraising and believe wholeheartedly in our main purpose of raising funds for the students we proudly support, we also value and promote friendships within the Club.

Our Friendship Days of fun and frivolity are held on the second Thursday of each month and activities on these days are varied, taking in morning and afternoon teas; luncheons; fashion parades; bus trips; and much more. Long time members will be quick to tell you that they have made wonderful acquaintances and very close friends through our club's fellowship. We are about VIEW: Voice, Interests and Education of Women."

We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

26-birthday

26 YEARS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

On Thursday 23rd October Noosaville VIEW Club celebrated 26 years of fun and friendship throughout the time supporting disadvantaged Australian children. Members and guests, who all embraced our theme of 'The Colours of VIEW', were welcomed including National Councillor Jean and QB1 Zone Councillor Vonda. Both these lovely ladies will retire from their positions at the end of this year, therefore, it was great to welcome Christine who will be taking over from Jean in 2026. We also warmly welcomed Buderim VIEW Members Connie, Antoinette and Carol.
Thank you to our amazing Treasurer Vivienne who made out two Birthday cakes (the smaller one being gluten free). She has made our birthday cakes for the past 15 years!
The Happy Singers entertained us with a terrific selection of songs and it didn't take long before we were all joining in. Noosaville member Pat is a member of this group and their spokesperson invited us to join them at their weekly sing-along at U3A Tewantin.

It was certainly a joyful celebration enjoyed by all.

Christmas in July High Tea

There was a large splash of red, green and white at our recent Christmas in July High Tea event held in the Forum at the Laguna Retirement Village Noosaville. Over 40 members and guests came along to enjoy delicious food accompanied by glasses of sparkling wine. A big thank you to our Club committee and to members of Laguna who all voluntarily, tirelessly and happily enabled this event. It was a very successful day and thanks to the generosity of all who attended, our 13 Learning for Life students will benefit hugely. Program Officers Susie J and Sue N, you did good!

June 2025 Guests

Members were delighted to welcome our Zone Councillor Vonda who was visiting in a non-official role. It is always a happy occasion to have Vonda with us as was evident by her brief humorous spontaneous talk to us all. We were thrilled that we had Vonda to present two members with their new Members badges. Great to see our membership growing once more.

Our Guest speaker this month was Children's Author Gail Jorgensen. Gail is a member of the Maroochydore VIEW Club and her education was sponsored by The Smith Family eventually becoming a teacher. It was truly an inspiring and interesting talk. Her books really are beautiful and special.

Both ladies can be seen in the accompanying photos.

June 2025 Friendship Day

June's Friendship Day was a trip down to Fairhill Nursery at Ninderry on a cool morning. However, we received a very warm welcome and several Members took advantage of the warm blankets on offer to wrap around their shoulders as we enjoyed a cup of coffee on arrival under a canopy of trees. It was lovely to have a couple of prospective VIEW Members with us, as well as the husband of a Noosaville Member.

Angela, one of the owners of the property gave a very informative talk on the origins of the nursery and how they are moving forward to make the nursery a family friendly space. Angela also spoke about her life growing up in the house Sir Walter Raleigh once lived in England. She certainly has an abundance of experience to make her dreams for the nursery a reality!

Volunteering At It's Best

Cheering and supporting the athletes in this year's Noosa's Runaway was rewarding, not just for the fun and the community spirit, but also because the funds received from USM as a donation go towards our Learning for Life students.
