Meet Our 2025 Committee

Members held their Annual General Meeting on 5th February at Club Eastwood. Past President Wendy took the chair to oversee the election of the 2025 Committee.  Wendy thanked the outgoing Committee for the commitment to supporting underprivileged children in the Smith Family Learning for Life Program, and installed the new Committee:

With the generous help of private donors and various Community Clubs who have donated goods for raffles, the Community who have supported all of our fundraising activities, and the commitment of our Members and organising Committees, we are now sponsoring twenty students in the Learning for Life Program.

Members are looking forward to another successful year and, welcome ladies to come and join us in our endeavour to support children in their education journey.

Eat-Up Program

Eat Up Program   Bobbie has been co-ordinationg our two Eat Up groups for 7 years. Such an amazing achievement.

This last year she meticulously organised our Members to provide 6,230 sandwiches to 9 schools in the area. These sandwiches provide less fortunate students with a free lunch to help them learn, grow and succeed.

A truly wonderful concept.

Interest Groups

Our Members enjoy the opportunity to participate in our four (4) Interest Groups  being Walking, Singing, Mahjong and Gardening.  Lots of special friendships are formed whilst having fun, learning new skills and sharing stories.

The GARDENING GROUP

The Gardening Group enjoy visiting various gardens in the neighbourhood. It's amazing to see how gardens have been transformed into magical spaces with a lot of effort and passion by the owners.

Lots of landscaping ideas are gathered by the group's members and great enjoyment is had by all who attend.

The SINGING GROUP

The singing group named VIEW VOCALS meet every second Tuesday of the month. President Sue hosts the group and prepares the lists of songs with input from the group's singers.

The WALKING GROUP

Meet on Mondays and Thursdays and generally walk between 5-7km and reward ourselves with a tasty coffee afterwards.   Lots of chatter along the way and a rewarding start to the day.

mahjong-group-2025

The MAHJONG GROUP

Members who enjoy an afternoon of Mahjong meet every fortnight on a Thursday. Don't be surprised to hear a pin drop with the silence, as the participants put all their concentration into their next move!!

Organisation of a good Mahjong hand requires judgement in selecting a game plan which will afford the best chance of success. Quite often a poor hand at the start of a game can be shaped into a winning combination  by the end!! An afternoon of Mahjong enjoyed by all.
