Meet Our 2026 Committee
Nearly all the members of the 2025 Committee were re-elected, and we welcomed four new members: June, Cheryl W., Lyndall, and Fay
We wish the new Committee great success in 2026!
Meredith O’Neill, our new Zone Councillor, provided an overview of her life and her role within VIEW and shared her plans to support us as we move forward.
25th Birthday Presentations
Diane was honoured with the Making a Difference Award for her remarkable contributions to our Club, VIEW, and The Smith Family. Her dedication over the past fourteen years, during which she has held various positions, including President, makes her a truly deserving recipient of this accolade.
Wendy proudly received her 20-year service badge, a testament to her dedication to VIEW over the past two decades.
Ethel, our historian, shared a heartfelt reflection on our club's journey
25th Birthday Celebration
Members celebrated their 25th birthday with a masquerade theme, with everyone wearing silver and black attire and masks. Special guests included National Councillor Lorraine, Zone Councillor Meredith, as well as members from other VIEW Clubs, Probus ladies, and visitors.
Diane was honored with the Making a Difference Award for her dedicated service and contributions to VIEW and The Smith Family. Wendy was also recognised for 20 years of service by receiving her 20-year badge.
The celebration featured a reflection on the Club's history by our historian, Ethel, and the afternoon concluded with two of our inaugural members, Christine and Ethel, cutting the birthday cake.
Thank you For Your Service
Members expressed our gratitude to three retiring committee members, Wendy, Gwen, and Jennie, (photo on the right) who have collectively served on the Committee for 45 years. As a token of appreciation, we presented each of them with a Certificate of Appreciation and a lovely plant.
We also recognised Janet Park, our retiring National Councillor, for her valuable contributions. (photo on the left)
International Women's Day 2026
One hundred and twenty women gathered for lunch hosted by our Club to celebrate International Women’s Day and local women's achievements.
Our guest speaker was Jennifer Mann, an accomplished sculptor renowned for her portraits and bronze statues displayed in Australia and Italy. She advocates for statue equality by creating sculptures of women, highlighting that fewer than 15% of statues honour women. Jennifer studied facial anatomy and forensic sculpting at the University of Texas and the University of Dundee, and currently works as a forensic sculptor at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.
We were entertained by the very talented duo, June and Colin Fraser, known as the Songbirds.
These events become even more meaningful as all proceeds support The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program, which aids disadvantaged Australian students.
