Greensborough Evening VIEW Club
About
Greensborough Evening VIEW Club was formed in 1993.
Currently, the Club sponsors nine Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
Our Club offers fun and friendship and offers a wide variety of events and activities for our members, helping to raise funds for our students. These include monthly guest speakers, scrabble groups, book club, knitting group, monthly morning teas, day outings and a bi annual weekend away.
We are always open to new members and look forward to introducing you to our Club and all VIEW has to offer so please give Judy a call, and have chat to find out more.

Meet Our 2025 Committee
November 2025 Outing
Twenty members had a very casual, train, walk, lunch and coffee outing exploring Yarraville and Williamstown on Sunday. The weather that was predicted - rain all day, thankfully held off for most of the day.
We caught the train into Melbourne, swapped lines and headed to Yarraville for coffee and a browse of the shops, then caught a train to Williamstown where we enjoyed a light lunch. Water Ferry was our mode of transport back to Melbourne! What a day!
November 2025 Guest Speaker
Our November Dinner Meeting guest speaker was Stuart Crampton, Prosthetist. Stuart who flew down from Brisbane especially to be our guest speaker, is the son of one of our members, Toni.
Stuart has been living and working in Brisbane and shared with us the latest advances and innovations in prosthetics - a fascinating and inspiring topic.

Outing to Dolly Parton Musical
Twenty members had a most enjoyable afternoon at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne singing along to the music of Dolly Parton in Here We Go Again .
October 2025 Guest Speaker
The October dinner guest speaker was Irene Harrington OAM, Marriage Celebrant. Irene told of how she became a celebrant and had us all in fits of laughter with her tales of various marriages and funerals that she has conducted over many years.
A most enjoyable night.
October 2025 Outing
Thirty two Members had a wonderful dinner at the Eltham College Training Restaurant, Swipers Gully. We were treated to a three-course meal all served and cooked by students from years ten and eleven.
The meal was excellent and the room was filled with lots of social chatter.
September 2025 Meeting
Guest speaker John Howell (Author) talked about his book The Only Woman in Gallipoli. John kept us intrigued with the true story of the woman who appeared at Gallipoli in November 1915, laid a wreath on a grave and then disappeared.
September 2025 Outing
Thirty-two Members headed into Melbourne to attend a tour of the ANZ Gothic Museum followed by a spectacular lunch at The William Angliss teaching Restaurant.
It was a wonderful day with head Chef Ben Pollard leading the way showing the budding Chefs all the tricks of the trade. Ben has worked in most of the outstanding Restaurants in Melbourne and interstate, including Cutler & Co, Supernormal and Gimlet at Cavendish House.
Everybody agreed - We'll be back!!
CONVENTION 2025
17 members headed off to the 2025 Convention.
What a time we had!
The Convention was action packed from the minute we arrived. We listened to Inspirational Guest Speakers, LFL Students, Resolutions, enjoyed a Friday night Themed dinner and a fabulous Gala Dinner and finished with a "Walk with VIEW" around the lovely streets of Brisbane.
We have all come home for a rest! Bring on Geelong 2027 - can't wait.

August 2025 Auction
This year's Auction was attended by 53 Members, who brought along new items to be auctioned, and then they bought them back again!
Always a fun night and this year $2,700 was raised towards our 9 Learning for Life Students - a wonderful effort by our very generous Members.

July 2025 Meeting
Guest Speaker for July was Julie Armstrong, who gave an inspirational talk on Hope in a Suitcase, which empowers the lives of children in out-of-home care. Julie reminded us that together we can make a difference in the lives of children entering out-of-care, Empowering them with love and self-worth. In turn, equipping them for the challenging journey ahead, creating a space for resilience and hope for their future.
Members were captivated and wanted to know how they could help, and the accompanying photo shows Hope In A Suitcase.
Theatre Outing 2025
Twenty members braved the cold to enjoy a local play at The Heidelberg Theatre.
Love Love Love was enjoyed by all and the theatre was lovely and warm.
Birthday Celebrations in June 2025
Hazel, our National Councillor joined in our 32nd birthday celebrations, enlightening Members regarding all the latest news in VIEW.
Members enjoyed a two course meal followed by our delicious birthday cake.
June 2025 Outing
Members enjoyed an outing to the Defence Force School of Music, where a variety of music was performed by the Defence Force musicians at the Simpson Barracks, Watsonia.
Theatre Outing in May
Thirty members enjoyed an afternoon at the theatre to see Jesus Christ Superstar. Many had seen the production many years earlier but this version was very different and enjoyed by all.
Bright Chalet Tour May 2025
Fourty Members and guests had a wonderful 4 days exploring Bright and surrounding towns. The weather was perfect; the Autumn leaves were on show and a fabulous time was had by all.
Towns we visited were Bright, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Wandiligong, Porepunkah and Myrtleford.
Easter 2025 Celebrations in March
Our guest speaker this month was from the North East Link project discussing many aspects of the huge project.
It was also the month we raffle our monster Easter baskets. Thirty women had the opportunity to win one of our fabulous hampers, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful Members.
February 2025
Guest speaker, Christine Heyes from The Stroke Foundation, gave an insight into being aware of what we should be doing to help prevent a stroke, and the signs to look for in case we feel we are having a stroke.

February Outing at Melbourne's Princess Theatre
Members headed into Melbourne's Princess Theatre to experience the life story of Tina Turner through her iconic and empowering musical. Words cannot explain how good this show was!

Lunch and Friendship
The 2025 year commenced with a lovely outing in February, when twenty-four Members and three lucky husbands, who can be seen in the accompanying photo, had a very special lunch in the Chloe Room of the Young & Jacksons Hotel, Melbourne. Following two hours of eating and chatting everybody headed off for a tour of St Paul's Cathedral.

Christmas 2024 Celebrations
Eighty-five Members and friends had a wonderful festive time celebrating Christmas at our December Dinner Meeting. Waverley, Heidelberg, Banyule and Eltham VIEW Clubs helped to make the start to the festive season fabulous. The entertaining duo Horizon had members and guests dancing the night away!
