Get Involved
- Volunteer
  As a VIEW member there are many opportunities to volunteer your time and skills to directly help and support The Smith Family and disadvantaged Australian children and their families.
- Fundraise
  VIEW members raise over $1.1 million annually for The Smith Family and sponsor more than 1,650+ Learning for Life students.
- Raise awareness and advocate
  With more than 300 clubs around Australia involving some 14,000 women from all walks of life, the collective voice of VIEW is an important aspect of the organsation's work.
- Sponsor a disadvantaged student
  Learning for Life sponsorship provides disadvantaged students with financial assistance, emotional support and access to learning and educational programs.
- Partner with VIEW
  VIEW is proud to have a wide range of community partners that support our fundraising efforts and the work of The Smith Family. We would like to thank the following companies for their ongoing support.
Across Australia, more than 13,000 women come together to connect, give back to their communities and help create brighter futures for young Australians. Geelong Evening VIEW Club

About

Geelong Evening VIEW Club was formed in 1993.

Currently, the Club has 27 members sponsors four Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs Our monthly meetings feature entertaining and informative guest speakers.

Members also participate in various social activities, such as afternoon teas, lunches, creative chatter and garden club to develop friendships and have fun. It is rewarding and inspiring to be involved with VIEW.

We warmly welcome new members to join our club and are always pleased to host guests at our meetings. If you are interested in learning more about what we do, please feel free to get in touch.

Recycling For VIEW

Members have been busy recycling drink containers at Leisurelink Aquatic and Sports Reserve CDS VIC West Reverse Vending Machines — to support our campaign, Digital Learning Essentials for Students. Every refund donated helps equip a student on The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program with the essentials for learning: a laptop, home internet and technical support. These vital tools are provided through The Smith Family’s Digital Learning Essentials program, ensuring students can fully participate in their education.

Every cent truly counts. Together, we’re aiming to raise $500 by July 2027, and your contribution — big or small — brings us closer to giving a young person the digital foundation they need to thrive.

August Film Fundraiser: Colours of Time

Members and friends attended a screening of Colours of Time at The Pivotonian in South Geelong, raising funds for The Smith Family.

The film follows four cousins who explore a long-abandoned Normandy house and discover the 19th-century Parisian life of their ancestor, Adèle, connecting past and present.

Bonsai Demonstration at August Meeting 2026

Our members learned valuable bonsai growing and maintenance tips from guest speaker David Smith of the Geelong Bonsai Club.

Garden Club's Outing July 2026

On 28 July 2026, Garden Club members visited Valley Road Nursery in Highton, where they explored its beautiful plants, garden items, and gift shop.

Tour of Barwon Water’s Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant July 2026

On 24 July 2026, members and partners attended a highly informative guided tour of Barwon Water’s Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant, Geelong’s most important wastewater treatment and water recycling facility, located in Connewarre.

Activity in June 2026

Our members enjoyed a lovely lunch and conversation with members from other clubs at Drysdale Day VIEW 25^th Birthday Masquerade Party.

VIEW at Geelong Volunteering Expo in May 2026

At Geelong's Volunteering Expo 2026 we were delighted that thirty-two members of the public engaged with us and accepted brochures/essence cards. One lady said she would be attending our June meeting.
