How to setup a hotspot on Android
- Open Settings:
- Find and tap the Settings app on your phone. It usually looks like a small gear icon.
- Go to Network & Internet:
- Scroll down and tap Network & Internet. On some phones, this may be called Connections or Wireless & Networks.
- Select Hotspot & Tethering:
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering. You might find this under More or Advanced settings.
- Turn on Wi-Fi Hotspot:
- Tap Wi-Fi Hotspot (sometimes called Mobile Hotspot), then switch it on.
- Set up your hotspot:
- Tap Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot (or Configure Hotspot), then:
- Network Name (SSID): Enter a name for your hotspot.
- Password: Create a password to secure your hotspot. Make sure it's something you can remember but hard for others to guess.
- Security: Make sure it’s set to WPA2 for better security.
- Save and Connect:
- Tap Save. Your hotspot is now active.
- On the device you want to connect, open Wi-Fi settings, select your hotspot name, enter the password, and connect.
